Now the home of Nancy C. Wisner and Frederick A. Simon, the farm dates back to 1850. It was one of the first dairy farms here on Lower Michigan Road.

Early owners were Orville Fifield, F. Daley (1853) E. Segar (1869) Cerro's (1976) In the Pittsfield history book "Glimpse of the Past Pittsfield Vermont"  printed in 1976 There are three photo's of the farm.

Some of the earliest settlers were located on this road, where Captain Charles Goodrich (1720-1816) from Pittsfield, Massachusetts built the first mills in 1792, and named the settlement after his home town.

In the early days of this area there was a settlement higher up the mountain.  The access roads, above and below the West Branch of the Tweed River , were named for their destination "Michigan" .  There are few signs of this cluster of dwellings remaining.

The central portion of our barn was built in the 1930's and was expanded to 8,000 sq. ft. by the previous owners and became widely known as "Cerro's Furniture Barn" Established in June 1956 and closed after 30 years in November, 1986. Today, it houses greenhouses where gourmet Shiitake and Oyster mushrooms are grown, a work shop, an antique and collectable section, our private storage, three horse stalls, two sheep shelters, and more.
